The Yukon and the Koyukuk: Photographs From the Alaskan Wilderness

Photographs by May-Le Ng

The Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge and the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve are two beautiful, wild, remote and seldom visited Parks in interior Alaska.
May-Le was extremely fortunate to spend the summer working as a field technician collecting biodiversity data from lakes across the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge for the USGS Yukon River Basin Biodiversity (YRB Biodiversity) Project throu the Alsaka Co-operative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit (AKCFWRU) at the UAF Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB). She also spent a week floating the North Fork of the Koyukuk River within the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.
This First Friday exhibition will feature photographs from both the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge and the North Fork of the Koyukuk River.
If you would like to learn more about what Alaska's wilderness has to offer, the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge, floating down the North Fork of the Koyukuk River, the YRB Biodiversity Project, IAB, or if you just enjoy, please join us for this First Friday event.
May-Le is a member of Co-Op Arts, a local Fairbanks artists' co-operative that runs the Co-Op Arts Gallery, open daily in downtown Fairbanks.

Over 200 people attended May-Le's first First Friday - The Yukon and the Koyukuk: Photographs From the Alaskan Wilderness. The show features photographs taken on the Yukon Flats and along the North Fork of the Koyukuk River and will remain in the Gallery until the November First Friday. Artist Trading Card Swap

What are artist trading cards?
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect these miniature pieces of art at organized swap events. These miniature works of art can be swapped like sports trading cards to amass a collection. The cards can be painted, collaged, mixed media, photographs, three dimensional shapes, found objects, etc. The only official rule for ATCs is that the size of the cards is 2.5"x3.5".

This is a fun, social event open to everyone. So get busy making your very own ATCs, bring them down to the Co-Op Plaza and join us at the swap!

You can find out more about ATCs here:
